A 'glam' approach, for the woman
who is alert to the influence of the 20s and 30s, in a modern,
harmonious complicity.
There is a concern with rich, worked details, an avoidance of
basic constructions.
The lines are tight fitting enough for a hyper feminine woman
and also comfortable and masculine. There is an interplay among
the fabrics: matte/shiny, oblique cuts and rhythms.
There is satin, wool gabardines, silk velvets and chiffons,
knits and chamois leather.
The range of colours is chromatic: black, deep brown and red. |

Innovation, rigour, quality and
humour are the hallmarks of their ready to wear and demi-couture
collections and they have recently begun designing men's wear.
The duo began their own label in 1984, after working with several
national and international brands for men. They have recently
designed the VODAFONE uniforms.
Throughout their careers they have shown their collection regularly
at MODALISBOA; in Barcelona (at the GAUDI Salon); IGEDO in Dusseldorf;
in London (Tradition and Quality at Icep) and in New York (Portugal
Fashion.)
They are teachers, in the Fashion Department of Lisbon's School
of Architecture, as well as working in the world of entertainment.
This encompasses cinema (the film "Traffic" by João
Botelho), theatre ("The Giants of the Mountain" and
"Rural Roots, Urban Passions" staged by Ricardo Pais)
and ballet ("Women's Songs" by the Paulo Ribeiro Dance
Company, staged by Giorgio Corsetti.)
In 1998 they won the "Look - best collection of 1998"
prize and "Golden Globe". |
